Displaying Select Data

Hi folks,

I’ve created a database for a school project that contains over 2,000 species of plants with 19+ columns of information for each. I want to achieve two things, and I’m having trouble finding the appropriate help/starting points:

1. Create a simple search engine for users to search by certain characteristics (light availability, for example, has about 5 variables, or pH range – I have both the range, min, and max in clumns).
2. Create a simple display of the information from a single entry on a standalone page, called by JSON (I imagine).

If you have existing help files on these or can provide demos it’d be very helpful in getting me across the finish line on the project. Thanks!
