    Hello Wordfence team,

I accidentally unsubscribed from Wordfence email alerts in the past, and now I need to receive them again, especially for critical scan issues.

Recently, I set up a custom SMTP in my WordPress site, and both the Wordfence test email and WP Mail SMTP test email are working correctly. However, I am not receiving email alerts for critical issues found during scans.

Could you please check if my email address has been blocked on Elastic Email and re-enable it for receiving alerts? My registered email for alerts is: grupokrxti@gmail.com

I appreciate your help and look forward to your response!

    Best regards,

    Débora Bastos

    Hi @deborabastos

Unsubscribing from our email list will not affect our plugin’s functionality.

We have no control over the settings that you set in our plugin so alert emails from the plugin are sent to any email address that you add to the option Where to email alerts found in the General Wordfence Options section on the All Options page.

    Hi,

I believe the issue might be related to my initial license setup. When I activated the Free license, I selected that I did not want to receive critical error emails. However, now I want to receive them, but they are not being sent.

I have already checked all settings:

    • My email is correctly set under “Where to email alerts”.
    • Critical alerts are enabled in Email Alert Preferences.
    • The Wordfence test email works, but no emails are sent for scan results.
    • WP Mail SMTP is configured correctly, and the email log shows no record of Wordfence trying to send alert emails.

Additionally, I never created an account on the Wordfence website. When I tried to create one now, I did not receive the email to set my password, not even in my spam folder.

Could my email address be blocked or restricted from receiving Wordfence emails? How can I reset my email preferences and ensure I receive alerts and account-related emails?

    Thanks!

    Hi @deborabastos

Apoloigies for the delay as this one got missed somehow.

You don’t need an account on wordfence.com to be able to use our plugin. Let me know the email you used to register an account by sending an email to wftest [at] wordfence [dot] com and put your username deborabastos in the email subject field so I can find it. Let me know when you have sent it.

Our plugin doesn’t send any emails. WordPress sends our emails as we use the WordPress mail function to send Wordfence related emails. You can ask the WP Mail SMTP and your email service provider support teams for help to see why all WordPress emails are not being sent/received. It could be a spam filter along the email chain that blocked the sending/receiveing of the emails. As it is for scan result alerts then it could be an anti-malware filter along the email chain that blocked the sending/receiveing of the emails.
