OK, now that it is relatively clear that the current update has turned a very good plugin into a very bad plugin, it is now time to ask for a statement.

Like many others, I am currently using the latest version on numerous customer projects and would like to know whether all the missing functions will be built back into the plugin and, above all, when or if you really want your plugin to be replaced. which would certainly be a painful step for both us users and you developers given the high number of projects used…

but let’s be honest: whoever came up with the current upgrade can’t have imagined the importance of this very good plugin. It’s completely incomprehensible how such an upgrade was allowed to go online, unless you want to stop the plugin completely anyway… I (we) would be very happy to hear an answer about what your plans are for the future.

    Hi,

We understand that the update has brought significant changes, and we appreciate you sharing your thoughts. The goal of v5 was to streamline the backup process while maintaining the reliability users expect. That said, we recognize that certain workflows have been affected, and we are actively working on refinements.

One of the key improvements in progress is bringing back custom scheduling in the free version to give users more flexibility. We are also working on enhancing backup format options based on user feedback.

BackWPUp remains a priority, and we are committed to improving the experience. We appreciate your patience and support and will continue to update users as we make further enhancements.

    Best regards.

Thanks for the reply. Is it also planned to create several jobs like in the previous version? At least 3 jobs with different times and different data selection?
