In common with other posts on the forum, this is a massive downgrade to me and I’m reverting to 4.1.7 until the issues are sorted out.

    • No longer able to choose compression so uploads are huge and no longer fit on my Dropbox
    • No longer able to schedule backup times – this will kill my server and there’s no way I’m upgrading to PRO or running the job manually on 50+ sites
    • I’ve not checked whether or not there’s the facility to exclude certain files, eg the images folder, but based on other features being removed I’d be surprised if that was still available!

    Please reconsider this terrible upgrade

    Hi,

We understand your frustration, and we appreciate your feedback.

    • Compression format: Backups currently default to .tar, and we recognize that this can lead to larger file sizes. I’ll pass along your feedback about bringing back .zip.
    • Scheduling options: The free version now runs backups at preset times (midnight for daily, first Sunday for weekly, first of the month for monthly). We understand this isn’t ideal for everyone, and we’ll continue gathering feedback on it.
    • Excluding files and folders: You can still exclude specific files and directories. Here’s how: Exclude Files and Directories.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and will make sure this feedback is heard.

    Best regards.
