Newbie Question – Unable to write data

    Hi Everyone

    I have a wordpress site, (of course) at https://ironcontent.com – I have Hostinger VPS hosting and a Google Workspace email addy newsfeed@fovinc.org – I have set the everything to IMAP SSL – everything seems to work, but the response I get from the test configuration is “unable to write data” to imap.gmail.com – I have tried POP SSL, I get the same response. My hosting has SSL so that is what I am using – the credentials seem to be okay – but I am unsure how to proceed. I have also tried deactivating all other plugins and I still get the same response. Any help would be wonderful. Let me know.

    You might check with your hosting support group to see if they support outbound connections on the imap and pop ports

    Hi Wayne,

    So I checked with Hostinger, and they support outbound connections on POP3 995 – they also said they support the Postie Plugin. I debugged the denial, and now it is saying my username and password are not accepted. It seems in the debug everything else is fine and receiving an okay when loaded, but when the Plugin goes to authenticate its gets rejected. I can offer the debug file here if you like and you can have a look. But Gmail has changed over to OAuth and that might be the reason, I am not a coder so I am unsure. Thanks for the help!

    Hi Wayne, I am using technewsfromfeed@gmail.com and I don’t have the app password option, only security keys, (I read the google help sections) I don’t have advanced protections, so I am unsure how to proceed, any suggestions – thanks so much for the help!

    The only real option would be to use a different email service.
