Topic Form Additional Fields is not working

All I ever get is when trying to create additional fields to my forum is the following error message:
There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums. Learn more about troubleshooting WordPress.

The email contains the folowing info (in Norwegian):

En feil av typen E_ERROR ble forårsaket i linje 178 i filen /home/wp-content/plugins/bbp-style-pack/includes/settings_topic_fields.php. Feilmelding: Allowed memory size of 536870912 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 400572416 bytes)

It should be fixed in version 6.2.4 of style pack just released.

Please let me know.

It seems to work now. WOW! Thanks A LOT for this update! It’s highly appreciated 😀

The only “problem” I experience now is: After posting a new topic to my forum from the frontend I get redirected to a blank page, not back to the forum. Does that have anything to do with these additional fields? It might as well be related to something totally different in my forum settings 😛 I’m working on setting it all up now and I’m a total newbie to all of this, so please bear with me 😛

should not be connected, and I cannot replicate this error immediately.

what is the url of the page you get redirected to?

I get redirected to this page: https://stereo8.alp.no/forums/forum/torget/kassetter/

But it simply looks like this after posting a topic (hitting the “send” button)… and if I refreshes this site, the topic gets posted twice 😛

ok, so lets see where the issue lies.

So firstly deactivate bbp-style-pack – you won’t lose any settings, and see if without the plugin active, then posting a topic works.

That will tell us if it is a problem with the plugin or something else on your site

Then come back with the result, and we can narrow down to the problem.

That’s a really great idea. I really should’ve thought of it myself 😛

With the “bbp-style-pack” plugin deactivated, the forum actually redirects me to the newly created thread just like it should, after hitting the “send” button on creating a new thread. Hmmmm… :/

Great ! – ok, so let’s reactivate style pack, but now we’ll take out the additional fields (you will need to recreate these afterwards, so presumably you can remember/know/note down what they are!)

You do this by :

Dashboard>settings>bbp style pack>reset settings (in the bottom line of tabs) and once selected the last one in the list is ‘Topic Form Additional Fields’ select this and click save.

Then see if the problem goes away or is still there – that will tell us if that tab is causing the issue.

Okey. Yes, now with the “bbp style pack” plugin reavtivated and the “Topic Form Additional Fields” reset, it seems to be working perfectly fine.

The forum redirects me to the newly created thread after hitting the “send” button… so the issue is clearly related to my custom fields one way or another. Might it have anything to do with me using any of these non-english letters Æ, Ø or Å?

that would be good to test – so create just one field and try it with and without and see if that makes a difference

Hmmm… created 4 new fields now… with no use of Æ, Ø or Å (or other strange letters) and the problem is back :/

can you just try with the ‘make this a required field’ switched off
