Hi guys.

To avoid website crashing due to expected high traffic like 1 million concurrent site visitors, I wish to regulate the traffic by implement an Invite Only Access to Website through issuance of codes to make make sure only those having codes can access the websites in a given day. Each set of codes are to expire after 24hrs.

Is there a plugin or script out there to achieve this pls?

Any other useful advice will be appreciated, thanks.

NB. Looking to subscribe to a VPS hosting as I can’t afford dedicated hosting for now.

WordPress already has something very simple for this: https://wordpress.org/documentation/article/protect-posts-with-password/

However, if you want to protect the entire website, you need plugins that make this possible. There are several options here, examples:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/content-protector/
https://wordpress.org/plugins/password-protect-page/

In these cases, you would have to provide users with a password so that they can access the content.

Please note: this kind of protection also prevents search engines from indexing the pages. As a result, you will hardly get any visitors and will probably never get the number of page views you mentioned unless you do extreme and expensive marketing for your site.
