“Image Optimizer Not Running”

    Hi- I’m trying to use Image Optimizer but get the following message:

    Image Optimizer isn’t running because:

    • The database server version is outdated. Update to MySQL version 5.7 or MariaDB version 10.2.

      I contacted my host and they referred me to you. Thank you for any help you may provide.

    Hi @integrisorb

    Are you using an updated version of MySQL or MariaDB? For reference, WordPress requires MySQL 8.0 or MariaDB 10.5 or greater.

    Sorry, I should clarify that those are the base recommended (not necessarily required) stats for WordPress… there are legacy versions where you can use MySQL 5.5.5 but those are EOL and would be a security risk.
