• I hope this message finds you well.

I am reaching out because I am experiencing issues with the Loco Translate plugin. I have used this plugin on other themes and websites without encountering this error before.

The plugin started displaying an error in the window title of certain pages and incorrectly shows the title on pages that haven’t been edited through Loco Translate. This issue is specifically affecting the following pages (which are identical except for their titles), where the title appearing on both pages is “Botón responsive”:

    https://cafelafinca.cl/master-como-iniciar/
    https://cafelafinca.cl/webinar-como-iniciar/

The designer and hosting provider reviewed the error and mentioned that, after consulting with their technical team, they determined it was caused by the Loco Translate plugin. They found that the code is affected in four lines (418, 488, 700, 770) and suggested that it would be best to either consult with a web designer or revert to a backup from before the issue arose, and then reimplement the language change plugin.

We have been using the free version of the plugin for several months and cannot revert to a previous version without losing all our changes.

Could you assist with resolving this specific error, or advise on how to remove all changes made by Loco Translate and restore the original state of the code strings?

I hope you can help resolve this issue as it is crucial for the correct display of the page titles.

    Thank you very much

There seems to be a lot of confusion here. Let me address a few of your comments separately…

The plugin started displaying an error in the window title of certain pages and incorrectly shows the title on pages that haven’t been edited through Loco Translate.

Pages are not edited through Loco Translate. It is a PO file editor, so if page titles are managed via PO files, then the same source string will produce the same translation wherever it used. I don’t see what you mean about my plugin displaying an error.

after consulting with their technical team, they determined it was caused by the Loco Translate plugin. They found that the code is affected in four lines (418, 488, 700, 770)

Please provide full detail of this evidence. Line numbers on their own are of no use.

We have been using the free version of the plugin for several months and cannot revert to a previous version without losing all our changes.

The free version is the only version of my plugin. Reverting to a previous version of Loco Translate will not destroy any changes you’ve made via the editor.

… or advise on how to remove all changes made by Loco Translate and restore the original state of the code strings?

If you use Loco Translate to modify existing files, then the original state of those files will be lost, unless you took a backup. This way it behaves like any file editor.

However, if you created completely new files to override translations with custom ones, then you can delete any files that you created. I can’t tell you what those files are, but Loco Translate recommends saving them under wp-content/languages/loco as documented.
