Send Birthday Greetings via Email to Users not working properly

Hello, I’m trying to set up automatic greetings for users on their birthday. I copied the code from the “Automatically Send Birthday Greetings via Email to Users with Today’s Birthdays” page and pasted it into the function.php file but there is no way to customize the user’s name in the email message. Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you
