POSTIE ERROR Could not connect to IMAP server

    i have been using postie to post for a few years now and once it was set up never had any issues posting today i tried to post and got this ERROR MESSAGE can anyone advise me wht happened and what i can do to fix this and continue posting as usaully Thanks

    Postie Settings (v1.9.69)fetch_mail: IMAP – Could not connect to IMAP server imap.gmail.com on port 993. Array ( [0] => A0002 NO [AUTHENTICATIONFAILED] Invalid credentials (Failure) )

    I know is say invalid Credentials But i have not changed anything?

    please advise

    Especially the section on App Passwords. Google has been changing the requirements for accessing Gmail.

    Thanks Wayne SO as of June sometime i have not been able to use my POSTIE very disappointed I tried to follow this link and read more I tried to change my IMAP SSl to IMAP did not work then changed it back to IMAP SSL and got thie again

    Not sure whta app password is for but i dont have that and the 2 way authecate has been off since i set this up 2 plus years ago

    Please advise ? Is this all done Because I need to figure out asolution

    Another option is to use an email server other than Gmail (or Outlook)

    OK Thanks so after all these years this is DONE USING THE DESIGNATED GMAIL I MADE?

    I HAVE 2 DIFFERENT SERVERS I Can make a new email account what would i need to change in here

    please advise what i wuill need and where to change it at ?

    Why No response to this ? I need a working program that i can use

    Please advise seems like this one does not fit the bill and what i need to do on my site

    I’ve given you two different options.

    1. Use an app password with Gmail – see http://postieplugin.com/postie-gmail/ scroll down to the bottom for details on app passwords. This is not a Postie this, this is a Google change.
    2. Use something other than Gmail
