Problem upgrading WP with Fantastico

    Hi

    I am using a really old version of WP (2.1.3.) and was trying to upgrade it with Fantastico to 3.0.1

    While upgrading, I get this error:

    Upgrading…

    Initializing Parameters – Done.

    Upgrade failed

    The database jujulici_wrdp1 is not working properly and the creation of a database backup file has failed. Please contact the sysadmin for further assistance. Include this message for reference.

    The initial installation has not been modified.

    Can someone pls help me?!

    My hosts are nto answering..
    I can manually back it up..
    I guess I will have to do it manually…
    Can I simply just erase everything after the backup and simply install the new one? and then reimport everything back in?

    No! The database has changed considerably since 2.1 You will need to carry out a series of smaller upgrades: 2.1 -> 2.2.1 -> 2.3 -> 2.5 -> 2.7 -> 2.9 -> 3.0.1

    Remember to backup your database, deactivate all plugins and switch to the default theme before beginning the upgrade process. Also back up your database after each successful upgrade.
