So I’m in the early stages of setting up my first wordpress site and so far have been able to find everyhting I need with a quick google but I can’t seem to figure this one out. Seems like possibly a simple setting but I cannot find it. I setup categories on my site and have added a couple of posts. My new posts are not showing now on the home page under recent posts. It seems like maybe my new categories are set for front page or something. If you look under my category for security you will see the newest post on my site, but it doesn’t show on the home page. Home page is still set to the default when wordpress installs, it’s not a custom page or anything. Thanks for the help.

    Site:
    Version: 3.01

I figured out that it’s something with the edegree theme. If I change the theme to the twentyten theme it comes up perfectly. I just don’t know what to look for in the theme to try and fix it.

You’d be better off contacting the theme author about this.

Fugured it out. Here’s the fix if someone else runs across this post.

In Settings > Featured Content Gallery configuration page, you want to change the option from using a category to using page or post IDs, then enter the post or page numbers, in the order you want those featured images/posts to appear. Then the rest of your posts will show up in the main area, and only the posts you specify in the featured posts will appear in your content gallery.

If you select by category, then the front page ONLY shows posts in that category, both in the content gallery AND in the blog area below.
