Hi there @synthmagic,
Thanks for reaching out.
To check the version number of your Storefront theme, please follow the steps below:
- Go to your WordPress dashboard.
- Click on ‘Appearance’ and then ‘Themes’.
- Hover over the ‘Storefront’ theme and click ‘Theme Details’.
- The version number should be visible in the top right corner of the pop-up window.
As for your concern about the compatibility of the Storefront theme with PHP 8.1, our developers are constantly working on updates to ensure compatibility with the latest versions of PHP.
We recommend keeping your theme and plugins updated to the latest versions for the best performance and security.
I hope this helps.
Thanks for the reply 🙂
I hover over the theme and just get a pop up box detailing what the theme is. There are no details being displayed on the active theme. Instead I just get ‘customise’ box in the middle of the theme. If I click on the customise box I get my website in a editing stage.
Thanks
Hi again @synthmagic,
Thanks for getting back with further details on this. In order to have a better visual understanding of how you are seeing your theme details, please share a screenshot with us.
You can use a screenshot sharing software like https://snipboard.io/ by uploading the screenshot there and sharing the direct link with us. Here’s how to make a screenshot: https://wordpress.com/support/make-a-screenshot/
I hope this helps.
Hi, I can now see the theme is up to date with version 4.6.0. If I select php 8.1 using this theme I get a message of ‘site has a critical error’ and the site does not load.
Is the theme definitely compatible with php 8.1?
Thanks
Hi there @synthmagic,
I can confirm that the theme is compatible with PHP version 8.1 and above, as I’m currently running that theme on version 8.2.20 with no apparent issues.
If I select php 8.1 using this theme I get a message of ‘site has a critical error’ and the site does not load.
Have you tried disabling all other plugins in your site to understand if the issue is related to a conflict with another plugin? If not, I suggest creating a full site backup and then follow the steps here to run a conflict test.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks. yes you were correct. It was a plugin that was causing the issue.
Thanks for your help with this.
All sorted out now. Cheers,
Steve
