We are currently working on separating Sitemaps by limited links per page (per Sitemap). So multiple paginated Sitemaps will be created on Sitemap Index. We are planning to finish and release this feature within several days.
Also, could you please clarify which Sitemap Structure are you using on your website?

Hi thanks for the reply. I have tried both structures, unique sitemap or sitemap index. I also take the chance to point another issue, with the news sitemap, which cannot be retrieved by google because of the missing tag Urlset > Url. Google seems to expect it on line three, but there is the generator declaration. Is it possible to exclude this generator and leave it as it is? Thank you.
The new feature will be implemented for Sitemap Index structure. I’ll notify you in this topic about the update.
Does your Google Sitemap show any links/posts? This error appears when the Sitemap file is empty. Google News may be empty if there have been no published posts in the last 48 hours.

Posts are there. around 40. I checked the map via an external software and seems to be fine. Just Google will not fetch it.
Correction. The news map was finally updated and it is okay. Hopefully the new feature will be released soon….

Sitemap Links Per Page feature is added with version 1.9.2. Now you can install the latest version and everything should be okay with Paginated Sitemap Links. Please let us know if there are any problems with the new feature. Thank you for using our plugin.
