Hey how can i add the NextGen gallery to a certain spot on the sidebar, while having the option of how i want it to show up.

If you click on Appearance Widgets there should be a NextGen Slid show widget just drag it and add it to side bar and configure it by selecting the gallery slide show you want in sidebar.
