    Hi,

I’m finding it difficult to grasp the whole system surrounding user accounts and related account specific information.

WooCommerce comes with its own My AccountRegistration and Login pages. On the other hand Tutor LMS adds its own DashboardStudent Registration and Instructor Registration pages.

Those are the ones I found, but maybe there are more? Or are they one in the same?? In other words, is Tutor just using the user accounts & permalinks of woocommerce and reskinning them via some sleight of hand on the backend?

I suspect that to be the case, but I am not very knowledgable on the topic. If this is the case though, many questions arise, but at least I’ll understand better how to approach them.

There are other instances, such as after an order is place, where the user is redirected to the Woo account page instead of the corresponding page within the dashboard. It also has slightly different options, such as a user can change their account email via Woo, but not via the Dashboard…is that intended? Bc the guest checkout is so buggy I would love to include the option to change emails in the dashboard.

So I wondering what would the the best approach since I guess the Tutor LMS links or redirects to these pages in various situations maybe.

    _________

I’m also wondering if their has been a fix for the issue with guest checkout not displaying the purchased course in the account that was manually created or auto-created during checkout. It seems loosely related to Woo / Tutor account information getting crossed-over so I figured I’d include it here.

    Thank you

    Hello @antgo213

It sounds like you’re navigating through the complexities of user accounts within WooCommerce and Tutor LMS, and I’m here to help clarify things for you.

Indeed, WooCommerce and Tutor LMS each come with their own set of pages and functionalities related to user accounts. While WooCommerce manages aspects like registration, login, and account management through its My Account pages, Tutor LMS adds its own layers with separate dashboards and registration pages for students and instructors.

To address your question, Tutor LMS does utilize WooCommerce’s user account system but customizes the user experience by integrating its own pages and features. This may lead to some differences in functionality and appearance between the two systems.

Regarding the redirection after an order is placed, it’s possible that WooCommerce’s default settings are directing users to its account pages instead of Tutor LMS’s dashboard. As for the differences in options like changing account email, this could be intentional design choices or limitations of the current setup.

To streamline the user experience and address any discrepancies, you might consider customizing the redirection settings in WooCommerce or implementing tweaks to integrate functionalities more seamlessly between WooCommerce and Tutor LMS. Additionally, exploring plugin extensions or seeking assistance from developers familiar with both platforms could offer further solutions tailored to your specific needs.

I hope this sheds some light on your inquiries, and please feel free to reach out if you have any more questions or need additional assistance.

Good to know, thanks. For the redirect after purchase, Tutor has a setting for this in the form of a toggle – “Redirect student to course dashboard after purchase.” Is the purpose of toggling the switch on, to bypass the Order Details page?

I understand this can be overwritten, but I haven’t made any customizations that I would expect to break this.

Lastly, have there been fixes for the guest checkout not transfering the purchased courses to the newly auto-created guest account?  I read another thread where a Tutor support person recommended enabling “compatibility mode (synchronizes orders to the posts table).” and switching legacy – WordPress posts storage.

    Is this still the case?

    Thanks again

    Hi,

    1. Redirect After Purchase: The purpose of the “Redirect student to course dashboard after purchase” toggle is indeed to bypass the Order Details page and take the student directly to the course dashboard after they make a purchase. If this isn’t working as expected, it could be due to other plugin conflicts or settings. Please ensure no customizations or conflicting plugins are affecting this behavior.

    2. Guest Checkout Issue: There have been updates to address the issue of purchased courses not being transferred to newly auto-created guest accounts. Enabling “compatibility mode (synchronizes orders to the posts table)” and switching to “legacy – WordPress posts storage” are still recommended solutions. These settings help ensure that course purchases are properly associated with the newly created accounts.

If you continue to experience issues, please let us know, and we can investigate further.

    Thanks again!
