Reorder admin functions in main navigation?

Hey all,
I’m still learning my WP nomenclature so I hope I’m making sense here.

Is there a way to re-order the administration functions in the main navigation of the main admin section?

Things like comments, tools, media, links even dashboard aren’t anything I’m needing to deal with ATM and would like to be able to permanently move them to the bottom of the column so I don’t have to continually scroll to the bottom of the admin page to get at things like my calendar, settings, gallery every time I edit a post/page/option.

I know I can click their little arrows to close them down but even closed they still take up enough real estate on the screen to bug me.

Hopefully that made some kind of sense.
