    Hello,

I’m having some trouble with implementing the banner for Google Consent mode. I followed all the steps from https://www.cookieyes.com/documentation/implementing-google-consent-mode-using-cookieyes/#Method_2_I_6 and the scripts are in the right order.

But when I try with Google Tag manager if it’s implemented right than I see first the Consent “default” event with everything denied. But 10 steps later there is also an event with an update and than denied turned into granted for some categories. But I don’t have any ad related cookies on my website and the category doesn’t show up. The rest of the banner works well because when I give permission everything turns to granted.

So what I do wrong here? Wasted a lot of time to find solutions but nothing works and can’t find other with the same problem.

    Thanks!

    Thanks for your message.

    This is the website: https://tinyurl.com/37zc8ayrr

At the moment I’m using the installation code but I used the plugin too but it was the same problem. Tried to put the code on different places / heights, same for GA4 but it doesn’t fix it.

    Hi @ccc124,

As you have hidden some categories from the banner, those categories will be considered as granted. Hence, it is set to granted while the banner loads on your site.

    Thanks, now it’s fixed!

But I don’t understand why I need to ask permission for advertisement cookies if we don’t run any? What’s the point of hiding a category than?

I changed the name now and as it doesn’t have any cookies in this category you can’t toggle it on or off. So it works but it isn’t the best solution but not sure if I want to keep it this way.

    Hi @ccc124,

You can hide a category if it doesn’t contain any cookies. But we don’t have the option to remove it from the Google consent mode. So here, the hidden category will be treated as granted.
