Stuck in an email verification loop

    Hi all, this is the first issue I’ve ever had with my wordpress site but extremely frustrating.

    I logged into my wordpress site and updated plugin’s, theme and latest security patch for wordpress. All worked fine.

    The following day I tried to login and got the prompt to verify my email address. Email arrived in my inbox and clicked on verify. Login page confirmed successful verification and continue to login. Entered same details and get the verify email prompt again. And so the loop continues.

    Any ideas how to fix this?

    WordPress itself does not have a form to verify the email as you describe. I suspect this is due to a plugin you are using for which you have installed an update. I can’t even guess which one it is without a link to the page or seeing it myself.

    You would have to find the plugin responsible and deactivate it via FTP. To do this, log in via FTP and remove the relevant plugin directory from /wp-content/plugins/. You should then be able to log in again without the email verification.

    If you want to continue using the plugin in question, please contact its support team to clarify why the link is not working.

    Brilliant – Have done as you suggested and deleted Wordfence from the directory and all works now when I login. Indeed, wordfence was one of the plugins I updated so will contact then for support or try something else.
