no changes at all, everything was working one minute, then not the next. I’m getting:

    “Error establishing a database connection

This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at xxx.xxx.com.”

    Any ideas?

Contact your host. Maybe there is an upgrade or maintenance going on…

the control on that situation is that i have other wp databases on the same server and they’re functioning.. i wish i had more info to provide, but i just don’t. everything was peachy and then i get a call that it suddenly stopped working. /shrug

If I were you I’d add another user to the database and try to connect through that.

thanks for the suggestion – i tried it with no luck. i logged into the MySQL database and all the info is there. i wonder how hard it would be to dump everything and restore it. i guess that depends on how my host is set up. i have all my wp config stuff saved, and i have the MySQL database backed up.. i guess i can try to figure out how to restore it. =(

Have you downloaded and checked the wp-config file ?
I’ve known it where a host moved a domain and screwed the files up.
