• HI,

I have created a custom shortcode that creates and inserts links dynamically to a free ebook download in a welcome response email (a simple lead magnet).

This works perfectly in your ‘preview screen’, but in testing this in the real world, when the welcome email lands in the recipients inbox the link to the ebook download has been replaced with a sanitised link and not the link as intended.

I understand from this forum that the system does this so that the link is trackable.

There must be a way to add a simple link to a download file that isn’t replaced by the tracking system.

Hopefully there is a simple way around this that is currently evading me?

    Hi there,

    Thanks for reaching out!

I understand from this forum that the system does this so that the link is trackable.

There must be a way to add a simple link to a download file that isn’t replaced by the tracking system.

You could disable tracking in MailPoet > Settings > Advanced. Once there, look for Engagement analytics tracking and select this option: Basic – only use data your site already has about your subscribers. Disable email engagement and cookie-based tracking, and re-engagement emails

However, this change would take effect on all newsletters links so you would no longer track links on all newsletters.

I’m afraid there isn’t a way to disable tracking for a specific link currently.
