css and image url wrong

Not sure if this is the right category to post in. Anyway, im developing a wp site on localhost via WAMP at the moment. But I want to show it to other people while im developing it. So i tried changing site ur from localhost:8080/the-root-dir to my-external-ip:8080/the-root-dir. People can reach the site (ports open etc), but they dont see any images. Have I missed to change something? Thanks!
