When accessing the homepage in the back end, a critical error message is shown – logs are not sent to the admin email inbox and the rest of the back end works perfectly.

When I disable the Yoast plugin, the problem is resolved. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin with the latest 22.4 version and the problem reoccurs.

We need to be able to update our homepage and use Yoast SEO. Any help on this issue would be much appreciated.

    Hi @patrickover,

Thanks for using Yoast SEO plugin and for creating the issue.

    1. Can you confirm your server has all the proper requirements? If you are not sure, speak to your host provider. This guide explains more: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/plugin-requirements.
    2. Can you send us additional information about any PHP errors related to Yoast SEO in your email or the server error logs? You can find the errors yourself by enabling WP_DEBUG in your wp-config.php file, trying to activate Yoast SEO, and then sending us any Yoast SEO errors in the debug.log file. You can find more details in this article: How to Use WP_DEBUG. You can also check with your web host to see if there’s a related error in your PHP error logs.
    3. Does saving the Permalinks without making any changes help to sort out the issue?
    4. Can you please share the screenshot of the page when you try to access it?

We recommend creating regular backups of your site and database for your site’s health and safety. A backup is crucial before editing files on your website and provides you with a safety net if something were to go wrong. Learn more about the benefits of regular backups.

We hope you will share these details to help us to narrow down the issue more.

    Hi @josevarghese,

I can confirm that the server does have all the proper requirements.

I have saved the Permalinks without making any changes twice; with and without the Yoast plugin activated but the situation still remains.

    Below is the requested screenshot.

I am still currently trying to find out how to provide what you’ve asked for in question two. I will reply with any PHP error information in a separate response.

Thanks for getting back to us. The server error log will be helpful for us to find out the root cause.

Also, have you performed a conflict check to find out whether any other plugin or theme is not causing any issues with the Yoast SEO plugin or not?

For your site’s health and safety, we recommend creating regular backups of your site and database before performing a conflict check. This is especially important before installing, updating, or removing plugins. Learn more about the benefits of regular backups.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Jose, thank you for the continued advice. The php error file is not something I can produce at this stage – our domain.com hosts give no functionality in order to produce such a report.

We’d rather not run a conflict check before the weekend in the case of more damage. We think we need outside help for both this and another few problems we’re experiencing and I will therefore close this ticket.

    Resolved.

    Hi @patrickover and @josevarghese,

I have the same problem. After installing the Yoast plugin, everything works in the WP panel, but the pages are not visible in the panel. The pages are visible, but not in the WP panel. A critical error appears. I’m not receiving an email notification. How did you deal with this, patrickover?
