Creating a classified site

    Hello,
    I am learning about creating a classified ads listing site.

    I used Hive a little and found a very useful url at to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Upw5QPhiQUY&t=504s to help with the install.

    Previously in starting to create a new practice site, I get to the point where in the url bar I enter
    Localhost/sitename and press enter this has taken me to setup-config.php where I can make various selections for the database.

    I created the database.

    I selected a site from WORDPRESS for download, wpadverts.
    Localhost/wpadverts

    This took me to a page I have not seen previously

    As stated above normally I see setup-config.php and enter the database requirements.

    Can anyone please explain what I may be doing wrong.

    Your problem has to do with installing WordPress on your local machine, and nothing to do with classified sites per se. And it seems something went wrong with the installation.

    I’ll recommend you ditch XAMPP and use Local (from https://localwp.com/) to install your local WordPress site. This is an all-in-one solution that gives you a WordPress site in a single click (plus a bunch of tools to help with local WordPress site development).
