  • There is an extra <br /> after each radio field.
Did you edit the program code?

Make sure to use the latest version, unmodified, then if you have trouble, I can help.

    Hi Mike,

Absolutely love this form but I am having the same issue as Steven. I checked the source & there does appear to be a extra <br /> but am unsure where to edit to remove it. The coding is unmodified.

    Thanks for your help.

    Maybe another plugin is conflicting.
Look on the Admin – Plugins – menu.
Temporarily Disable (not uninstall) all your other plugins.
Does it work now? If yes, Activate the plugins one by one to determine
which one conflicts. Which plugin was causing it?

    —————–

It could be the theme you are using is causing it…
    Do this as a test:
In Admin, click on Appearance, Themes.
Temporarily change your theme to the “WordPress Default” theme, or “Twenty Ten” (default for WP 3.0).
It does not cause any harm to temporarily change the theme and change back.
    Does it work properly now?
If it does then the theme you are using is the cause.

I’m sorry it has taken me a few days to get back to you.
Disabling the other plugins used by the site had no effect.
Switching back to the 2010 theme caused the radio buttons to be closer together than they are when the Awake theme was active but they were still further apart than I would have expected.
For the moment, I have been able to work around the problem by using check boxes that appear tightly bunched as one would expect (see for example http://www.tayloredresults.com.au/blog/?page_id=15 and drop down the contact form).

So, in summary, the Awake theme pushes the radio buttons further apart than the 2010 theme but, even with the standard theme, they are still much more widely spaced than check boxes.

I don’t know if you keep a note of plugins that seem to work well with Fast Secure Contact Form but, in case you do, the other plugins on my site are:
    BigBlueButton
    Peter’s Login Redirect
    Register Plus Redux
    User Access Manager
    WP-DBManager
    WP Hide Dashboard

Thank you for your ongoing help.

    Hi Mike,

It appears that it is my theme “Suffusion” which is causing the gaps as in twenty ten it works perfectly.

    Thanks for the help.

I can’t figure out how in the plugin settings to configure the radio button. I get the error message since it’s not configured correctly. Could there be a file permission problem? If so, can you tell me which file or folder in the directory I need to change the permissions on? We do re-set the permissions on the captcha temp folder after installing the plugin for the captcha to work. Other than that we haven’t done more with the form than basic text entry requirements. The form works great – I just haven’t used the radio buttons until now and am stumped. Inexperienced as I am.

Any direction will be appreciated. I could not find an answer elsewhere.

    Thanks.

    See this faq
    http://www.fastsecurecontactform.com/how-to-add-extra-fields

first enter the label and a comma, then include the options separating
each one with a semicolon like this example:
    Color:,Red;Green;Blue

If you need to use a comma besides the one needed to separate the
label, escape it with a back slash, like this: \,

It is not a permissions problem.

    Mike
