    Hello,
I am storing Updraft backups on my cloud storage, but just saw that my web server disk space also contained 30GB of disk space with the exact same backups files as in my cloud storage. For other backups plugins I have used in the past, there was an option like “remove backups from web server after copy to cloud storage complete“, but I cannot find anything like this in UpdraftPlus (backup version 2.24.1.26). How can I do this? Or is it only possible to clean up backups in the web server manually?

    Hello,

Please could you check UpdraftPlus >> Settings >> Show expert settings >> Delete local backup as shown here. This should be checked in order to prevent local backups being saved after they have been dispatched remotely.

To clean up the webserver you could select the backups you wish to delete from the Existing backups section but leave the option to also delete from remote storage unchecked like this.

You can then use the Rescan remote storage link also in the Existing backups section to re-add your remote backups. I would only advise rescanning if the remote directory contains backups for this site only as it will add backups from any sites that use that directory.

Alternatively you could go to the wp-content / updraft folder and remove the local backups directly.

Thanks for the quick and thorough answer.

I checked for the option “Delete local backup:” but it was already enabled/checked. Still, there were 30GB of backups in my hosting’s disk space, the exact same files as in my cloud storage.

Is there a way so I can share log files with you, or is there another way in which we can troubleshoot this issue?

    Thanks already, Jip

    Hello,

Yes, please share your log file using pastebin.com.

The same thing is going on for me – with “delete local backup” already selected but it’s still saving them. I tried to use pastebin but it said I exceeded the max size of kb to paste.
