Google Search Console Still Indexing Pages Despite Yoast SEO Settings
-
Hello everyone,
I’m encountering an issue with my WordPress website (version 6.4.3) where Google Search Console is indexing pages that I’ve explicitly excluded using Yoast SEO settings.
Here’s the setup:
- WordPress website with Thrive Themes for content creation, including images and an academy.
- Using Yoast SEO, I’ve configured the content types settings to exclude Thrive symbols, lightbox, and academy content from indexing. Specifically, I’ve set these options to “Out” in the Yoast SEO settings.
- Despite these settings, Google Search Console is still giving me 404 errors for pages within my academy and it sees symbols, which should be excluded from indexing according to Yoast SEO.
For reference, here are two types of pages causing issues:
- Example of a page with Thrive symbols (should be excluded): https://floweroflove.love/?post_type=tcb_symbol&p=159 (this one I redirected to homepage)
- Example of a page in my academy environment (should be excluded): https://floweroflove.love/module/community/ (ofcourse I can not redirect this one as its part of a course I am giving)
I’ve checked and rechecked the Yoast SEO settings, ensuring that these content types are indeed set to “Out” for indexing.
Can anyone offer insights into why Google Search Console might still be indexing these pages despite Yoast SEO settings indicating otherwise? Any suggestions or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your help!
