The same should be done in the Search Gutenberg Block. A tree list for the categories.
Otherwise users do not know where a child category belongs.

I tried Twenty-Twenty Four theme, Neve theme, Astra theme, all same issue.
I tried on a staging site, empty, with no plugins, even i disabled Wordfence, same issue.
I switched to php 8.0.x just in case, same issue.
So apparently there is an issue. I’m really astonished that i see no reports from all those 10.000+ installation and reviewers 🙂
Hello
Thank you for reaching out.

@mahfuz87 You are the best, thank you!
That change did the trick.
BUT also that change fixed an other issue. Now the Dropdown Selector shows the Parent categories at left and their childs with a bit of padding to the right, making easy to understand what belongs where.
