API Key

    The API key I have on file does not seem to be the correct one. It is not accepted by plug-ins requiring the API number.

    I am using the latest version of WordPress with the Atahualpa 3.4.9 by BytesForAll theme.

    My dashboard does not show an API key number.

    My user profile does not show an API key number.

    I do not know how to find the correct API number or get a new one.

    As an early adopter of the computer (30 years), this is one of the most frustrating situations I have ever experienced.

    Where do I find the API number or how do I get a new one?

    It depends what plugins are requesting an API key.

    Yes … but I can’t remember my password … and try as I may, they won’t send me one ;-(

    If I sign up for a new … will I get an API key I can use for this blog I’ve already established?

    Or do I have to start all over?

    Yes, if you get a new account on wp.com, you can use that on any of your own sites. 🙂 you don’t need to reset your own site,

    I signed up for a new account at wordpress.com snd entered the new API key…the stats are now installed

    Funny the Dave Lighthart stats still show my previous API Key associated w/ my blog–and when I change it to the new key–it changes back to the old key. Oh well!

    This is one of the most convoluted systems I have ever used–however the stats are now installed–using the new key.

    Many thanks for that small miracle.
