turn on php in word press

hi. a blind web site designer and installed wamp server 2.0 and using the jaws for windows screen reader from http://www.freedomscientific.com, and now when i downloaded and try to install word press 3.0, get a php not turned on error. and went to wamp server and made sure that it is online and all services are on. so how to get this to work. got a star trek site i decided to develop in sql and visual web developer express 2008, but got stuck and the project has been in limbo, so wanted a easier cms solution. so now how to get this to work. please help. marvin from devonport, tasmania.
