No Menu option in Appearances

    There is no menu option when I click appearances. I have tried a dozen different themes including the main ones like twenty twenty and lots of imported ones. I also tried deactivating all the installed plugins and uninstalling and re-installing wordpress.. I am using the automatic install of wordpress from hosting company Bluehost. Any ideas on whats wrong and how to get it working?

    Can you provide a screenshot of what you’re seeing on the APPEARANCE screen?

    @newfoundlandfamilytree , if you are using newer themes or FSE based theme, then there is no Menu option under Appearance.

    If you want to use this option, you have to use a non-FSE theme. Most Elementor-based themes are non-FSE.

    Ouch, my bad.

    I understood “Menu” to mean any menu item, which is why I asked to see the screenshot… because even FSE themes should have the Editor menu item under APPEARANCE.

    I’ve been so much in the weeds of FSE themes recently that I never thought of the specific menu item — MENU — for managing a site’s navigational menus the old way — which is what the question is about.

    Sorry for the confusion.
