Removing default Category

    I did a search first and did not find a way to remove the default category.
    I would like items that do not fit in a current category to be un-published.

    Save them as DRAFT and they won’t be published.

    If you want to “get rid” of the default category, then simply rename it to a category that you would want to have.

    is draft default can I make it default?

    draft is not a category, it’s a status

    All of your posts will be saved with the draft status if you click the ‘Save’ button instead of the ‘Publish’ button when you’re done writing. Also, if you turn on Advanced Editing, you can change the status of any post to ‘Draft’ by editing it and using the radio buttons below the edit form.
