    Hi all,

    Hope you can help.

I am currently trying to upload (and then to amend) a new theme on WordPress. Having done it previously and edited the header not to my liking I then decided to start again with a new theme.

However, upon loading a new theme to replace the old one this message popped up

Incompatible Archive. PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature

Could anyone tell me what is wrong here as obviously I cannot reinstall the new theme.

    Any ideas.

    James

  • I have a similar problem with one of my two WP sites. One of them is fine: several themes available and useable. On the other site I can’t install a new theme (I’ve tried both Atahualpa and Erudite: both work fine on the other site) and get the “Incompatible Archive. PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature” error.

Earlier I just go the endless “Unpacking…” message.

I’ve tried removing a file from wp_options as advised by the Atahualpa people: didn’t work.

I’ve put “AddType x-mapp-php5 .php” in an .htaccess file in the root of the site: doesn’t work.

I’ve tried installing the themes from the Dashboard (install themes and via upload) and via FTP… still no joy.

    I’m using WP 3.0.1 and Windows 7.

Please, what else should I try?
