• After nearly two years of fine service, the image resizing feature on Arthemia has suddenly stopped working.

    It’s on my wife’s site at http://wedding-cafe.co.nz.

I’ve attempted to troubleshoot the problem. It’s not the individual image – the theme isn’t resizing any pictures. In fact, when I stripped out an earlier image and reinserted it, that image didn’t resize.

It’s possible the failure is something to do with my host. The host went down for a day about a week ago and has been flakey since then. I’m guessing (partial deduction) the server no longer has enough grunt to handle resizing and is timing out.

During troubleshooting I found one anomaly. She has been using addresses like /uploads/2010/08/empire-line-dress-275px-deep.jpg in the Image custom field without the wp-content at the beginning.

The images which are still showing in featured and headline all have these addresses. If I change them to wp-content they no longer appear. This causes me to deduce it is the resizing software that has stopped working. I assume the images which show up are cached.

    Any ideas?

  • Check the uploads path in Settings – > Media.
Try deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
Ensure that you are using the latest version of your current theme.

Sorry Esmi, I should have said that was the first thing I did. It’s the first thing I always do.

    It’s not a plug-in issue.
