• I have the following error message in my Themes section:

    Broken Themes
The following themes are installed but incomplete:
    Licensing Stylesheet is missing.
    demo_content. Stylesheet is missing.
    documentation Stylesheet is missing.
    psd Stylesheet is missing.

I have been working on a child theme with no problem over a few weeks. The pages I have created so far are ok, however suddenly the original theme template pages are missing all content and this error message shown has appeared. Does anyone have any idea why this may have happened and the best way to resolve it without breaking my good pages? I’m a complete novice. Thanks

It seems the theme was packed incorrectly.

Rather than having all your theme’s files and folders inside one theme folder (which you’ll archive and upload), these folders (not required by WordPress, by the way) were uploaded to the wp-content/themes/ — and WordPress “thinks” these are separate themes when they’re not.

If this is a commercial theme you purchased, usually the one zip file you download will contain with all sorts of materials — some of which are not part of the theme and don’t need to be uploaded. You’ll need to extract the main file you downloaded, inside of which you’ll find another zip file that contains the actual theme you need to upload.

Thank you that makes sense. However it doesn’t explain why my child theme template pages have lost all their content.

Just to be sure… If I uploaded the correct theme file would it delete my new web pages – they are duplicated template pages that have been renamed – or will the upload just overwrite the existing faulty template pages (with missing content) with the identical names? Hope that makes sense. Thanks
