I have a lot of brute force entries in the log, now I would like to filter them a little and search specifically for login attempts for a user name or IP. Unfortunately, I cannot find such a filter or search function. Is there even such a filter or a search function via the log table? It would also be helpful if I could customize the columns of the log table and always display the login name of a failed login!

    Many thanks and regards

  • Hi @tomv2000,

When you hover with the mouse cursor over any column value in the Logs page, a black filter icon will show up next or under the column value. I think that’s the filter you are looking for 😉

    Happy New Year!

    Hi nlpro

Yes and no, I am familiar with this filter. What is still missing here, however, is somewhere where it is shown exactly which filter is active.
For me, a detailed mask is definitely missing here where you can set various filter options.

However, what I still mean is that I would like to filter according to the user name of a login attempt. I have marked this in red in the image.

    Hi @tomv2000,

True, there is no info about which filter is currently active.

There is actually a “User” column available but it is always empty for “Brute Force” module, “Notice” type and “Invalid Login” description log entries. Which makes sense because these log entries are created while no user is logged in. Anyway I agree it would be useful to list the attempted user/username eg in this column for these type (Brute Force/Notice/Invalid Login) of log entries. That way it would allow us to use it as a filter.

    Hey @tomv2000!

Just wanted to swing by here and note that we’re tracking this feature request internally. I had our product owner take note here. I agree it would be great. No timeline for it, but it’s something we’ll have a look at.

And @nlpro thanks as always for helping out. You’ve been so helpful for so long with our support forums! I’d love to connect via email. Shoot me a message at ben (at) solidwp (dot) com, and let’s meet!
