Beginner MySQL questions

So I am new to wordpress.org. I just bought my domain and followed the tutorial here to set up thus far.

I have gotten to the point of entering my address to follow set up, and I am being told that my wp-config is wrong, or the database is down.

I have triple checked my Username and pass and know it is right. I did just set up a godaddy hosting account with my new domain, and used filezilla to upload everything to my host.

Any tricks or simple suggestions I am probably overlooking?
