• It’s setup as a site to post your questions, and receive customised tutorials.

Then there is a database, with all older questions and a tutorial can be instantly downloaded from the website.

This is my website, I would be grateful for any suggestions you may have, criticism etc, please comment and let me know your thoughts.

  • Seems like a nice concept, but the page seems waaaay to busy. Too much “cool” can really bog things down, usability wise. In terms of plugins, the contact thing on the left, the social network things on the right, and the bar on the bottom a la Facebook are all excessive.

There are also way too many fonts, I think. There’s your logo font (very top), the tagline font (“save your ass”), the random serif for the recent questions, Courier New (used both for headings and copy), and both Arial and Helvetica (also used for both headings and copy).

I’d advise thinking very long about what faces you want to use and where you want to use them. If you use more than one fonts, they should sufficiently contrast each other (too similar and they’ll both just look wrong), but also be harmonious somehow. For Arial and Helvetica—use one or the other, not both. And don’t use either as body copy…headings only, IMHO.

(On a side note—the tagline face and the serif for the recent questions are embedded using @font-face, no? Do you have a webfont license from the designer/foundry to use it in this manner?)

The “Recent questions” idea is nice, but the type is way too small, and they don’t stick around long enough to read.

I also quite like the “Login-Pay-Tutorial” graphics, but I think the “ask a question” form needs to go on its own page, as does the sample work. It’s just too much to have on the front page.

Overall it seems like a great concept…but IMHO, it needs a lot of polishing, design-wise.

Look beautiful, the picture and icon are fun!
