trying to use import funktion with spotify or spreaker, non of them is working. also tried with others

getting errors in log:

error must be in code of plugin

please fix it

Hi @kaklappen, what RSS feed are you trying to import? If possible, please verify that the PHP directive [allow_url_fopen] is enabled. If this is not enabled, our importer will fail.

the podcast wont work with the apps (for example antennapod)

now I have 2 rss feeds (protected username: user124 password: user123)
1. specific feed to podcast https://vaegabond.com/feed/podcasting/der-radreisepodcast-spezial/
2. regular feed to the new slug https://vaegabond.com/feed/podcasting/

If i try to import the first one (https://vaegabond.com/feed/podcasting/der-radreisepodcast-spezial/) it will not import and shows error like this:

if try to import the second one (https://vaegabond.com/feed/podcasting/) it will add the podcast but it will show error once I try to refresh it

any idea how to fix this?

Hi @kaklappen,

Yes, the app can’t get the feed because it is protected. So you need either remove the protection from the feed, or organize listening of your private feeds on your site with a membership plugin or your custom solution.

that´s not the reason. The app “antennapod” is asking for username and password, it´s working with oher protected feeds very well.. also seriously simple podcasting plugin supports password protection. there must be another reason. If not, why is this option available in the first place if it´s not working?

If you check the feed source, there is a total cache plugin message, and it looks like it breaks the feed:

thanks a lot, I excluded the feed page from W3Total cache and it´s working now.

But there is another problem:

I am using Pmpro to restrict the access to specific episodes

for example this one “BONUS Bamberg: Überraschungsstream aus der Werkstatt – etwas Besonderes wird ausgetauscht“

as soon as I pick a tier from pmpro to limit the access to the podcast episode, the post disapears from the podcast page:

but it´s still visible on the main SeriouslySimplePodcasting page:

https://vaegabond.com/podcasting/

once I remove the pmpro access limitation, the post is visible on both sites.

What is going on here? It should be visible on both pages no matter what kind of restriction I put on the episdoe

Regarding the visibility of episodes, I believe the PMPro plugin might be doing it. Unfortunately, I can’t provide specific guidance on it. You might consider exploring alternative membership plugins or hiring a developer to delve into this issue more deeply.
