Setting Column Height

I have a header that is a group containing one column with a navigation bar and I cannot figure out how to reduce the height of the bar. It looks OK in the editor but ends up twice as high in the actual site. The top and bottom padding and margins are set to 0 everywhere I can find them. Can anyone give me a pointer as to how I can reduce the height of the navigation bar (the green colored row with three links in it)? The line height for the link typography is set to 1.2 and making it smaller seems to have no effect.
