Hi. I’m trying to import users with a profile picture. I have a column called avatar_url, and for the value I have tried the post ID of the image, the full (absolute) URL of the image, and the relative URL. I cannot get the image to show on the newly created users.

I found this link which indicates it should work, but it isn’t for me: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/import-profile-picture/

Sorry but WordPress does not allow to manage local avatar by default.

Which plugin are you using to solve this problem?

I use Ultimate Member to allow members to add their own profile photo.

As you will notice in “Documentation” there is no addon to include this kind of compatibility with UM. It even does not exist in addon folder: https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/import-users-from-csv-with-meta/trunk/addons

We have compatibility with WP User Avatar now called ProfilePress https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-user-avatar/ and with BuddyPress avatars.

Thanks for clarifying Javier. Based on the ‘Documentation” I thought I could use the meta tags to accomplish this but I am mistaken.

Is this a feature you could add since you’ve done it with WP User Avatar and BuddyPress? I would be willing to pay for it.

Sorry, but in this forum you can’t ask about hiring anything.

In the future, we will include an addon to create the best possible compatibility with UM, not only for avatars.
