• I’m wondering if there is any plugins available that stop WP inserting auto paragraphs when you use the HTML view? I know some exist to stop it doing it altogether, but it’s natural to expect them automatically when using the visual window, but in the HTML view it shouldn’t add them.

This way it makes it incredibly hard to add your own html code in there as WP will always jack on a lot of <p> tags to my code.. :/

    Any help!?

    Thanks!

  • WP doesn’t add any extra <p> tags to my code, and I use HTML mode exclusively.

Maybe it’s a plugin or something adding the extra tags.

Hmmmmm…….. naaa, don’t think so. Maybe it’s caused by the switching I have done between the two different views!?

I suspected you might be doing that.

So even if you don’t change anything on the visual page & just go to view it & then back WP will add <p> tags to the output?

Only if you have spaces. lol

I know, it shouldn’t do that, but since it does; Why don’t you just stop switching between modes?

Because I prefer to use the visual mode unless I have to input my own HTML code.

You can open your blog in another window to view your updates.

That way you can remain in HTML mode, and you won’t be getting all those extra <p> tags from switching views.

Yeah….. that’s what I’ve started doing. Using the preview mode each time; but just liked using the visual mode for standard stuff. But guess I’ll have to adjust. :/
