Mystique theme update

I started using the Mystique theme a few months ago, and I have now realized from looking at other sites using the theme that I don’t have the sidebar menu with the folder/star/tag icons for archives and such. Is this a particular plugin I need to install? It says my theme is up to date so I’m not sure why I don’t have the option and others do! Any thoughts?
