I desperately need help. 90% of the themes that I’ve tried to install don’t work. The default and the TwentyTen theme won’t even work. I don’t know what information that would actually help, but I don’t want to create all of the pages to have to dump wordpress and go back to html.

Here’s what happens with Default 1.7.2 theme activated:
    http://www.sacredheartcardinals.org/index.php/about/

There are no errors, it just won’t display 🙁

  • Looks like it not installed properly

I just checked and you have something like html website on root and you must have installed wordpress in root as well try and install wordpress in a folder of its own.

At this point, I’m so desperate that I’ll try anything…T.T

What urls are entered in Settings/General?

@esmi I checked his url http://www.sacredheartcardinals.org looks like he has a website there already and than he has wordpress on the same root tried to go on this http://www.sacredheartcardinals.org/index.php
gives error so must be conflicting on which website to use index as he is using index.html for the website.

Sorry, I’m in the process of moving the WP files into it’s own folder and reinstalling. I’m have to do this around the students in my classroom so it’s taking a little while.

@hkgaines Delete the wordpress from the root leave your website as is so that your website is still there for your visitors.

Install wordpress in folder and work with wordpress in that folder untill you are comfortable with it and everything is working than you can always move your present website in a folder and move wordpress to root.

I’ve deleted it, reinstalled it, got the message that it was already installed, repeated the entire process 3 times. I’m about done and I’m thinking I’ll stick to HTML.

I appreciate the speedy help guys, but I don’t have the time to spend going through this much trouble to “spice up” our website.

    Thanks…

Sorry hear that but if you delete everything related wordpress and the database and start from scratch than you should not have problem installing in a folder.
