• Just installed 3.0.1 but before I start adding content, categories etc I was wondering what plugins are recommended as no-brainers to have installed on it and why?

I know to an extent this is down to opinion, and answers may vary but all answers are appreciated 🙂

You will need a a WordPress account its free. Stats will show your page hits and where the referers are and Askimet is a well implimented spam management system both plugins are invisible to your visitors..

Definitely Akismet to prevent spam. Anything else should be more of a personal decision based on what features you want. If you’re curious, I keep a list of plugins that I recommend to my clients here:

Well, the first one I am playing with is an autoblog if that helps.

I will no doubt be making more WP sites but I want to get one of these set up first. I suppose answers for different types of site would be good … an autoblog, a CMS website with content but not comments, and a normal blog.

    🙂
