I’ve got quite alot of experience with WordPress and Webdeveloping. But I still don’t know which WP builder nowadays is the best?

I know years ago Elementor was the best there was, is this still the case? Or could I better get something else?

I mainly make websites for little companies.

There is no such thing as “the best”. If there was, everyone would use it.

You have to decide for yourself which PageBuilder is the best for you, your customers and their plans and intentions. Sometimes you have to decide differently for each customer. So you should at least know which advantages which PageBuilder has and whose disadvantages speak against a decision for this one.

If you have a good experience in web development, I suggest to not use page builder, use ACF pro, create you own post types, with that the slowest thing to do will be css, js integration.
From my experience page builder slows websites and donnot generates proper DOM. I mainly work with ACF Pro letting you create taxonomies, and posts attributes.

My emphasis on customers, or more accurately, site/business owners. Will they be creating or managing site content? Then use what works best for them. As a developer, you should be able to at least minimally work with whichever builder is best for the site owner.

It may be a page builder is inappropriate for how owners might maintain their site content. Site maintenance might be better accommodated through various custom fields, as webthomasgal is suggesting. Or maybe a hybrid approach. Perhaps the home page is assembled from custom fields so its layout can be properly constrained, but secondary pages are more free form and constructed with a page builder.

If you will continue to be responsible for all site content, then use whichever builder or editor works best for you in providing what’s best for your clients.

This is not a topic for these forums at all. The forums here are all about supporting users who have WordPress problems, plugin or theme problems or coding problems.

Specifically this is the Developing with WordPress forum and that’s about code. This is not a code topic. It’s about paid work (freelancing) and which builder is best for that paid work.

Nor is there any forums on this site for this topic. Perhaps Reddit /r/Wordpress instead but not here on this site.
