Can’t install plugin

    I sucessfully used the Gwolle Guestbook on my website. For whatever reason, it disappered and was not able to be retrieved. The plugin itself is not shown under plugins on my WordPress dashboard. When trying to install it again, I got the failure message, that plugin cannot be installed, because “folder is already existing”.

    No I am lost and don’t know what to do, as I have no idea how to find or accesss this folder. Thanks for your help.

    Hi,

    No idea what happened. I haven’t seen this before.

    What you could try is download a zipfile of the plugin manually from the WordPress.org website. Then go to Plugins > New Plugin > Upload New Plugin. There you can upload the zipfile. It should see that the folder exists, but then give the option to install anyway.

    The alternative is to use FTP. But if you didn’t think of that yourself yet, that might be a little tougher.

    Then you could always contact your hosting provider, see if they can be of help to install it for you.
