Hi @romanbupqode,
Thanks for your message.
There are usually a couple of reasons that duplicate notifications occur:
1. It takes too long for the server to send all the notification emails.
2. Another plugin is hooking into the public/update action (such as a social sharing plugin).
3. There are too many users to send to in one go for the server/email plugin to handle.
Do you think any of these could apply to you?
I changed your plugin to another plugin for notification and it works good so problem is somewhere in your plugin.
Hi @romanbupqode,
Thanks for confirming. If the problem is with BNFW, I’d love to fix it.
Are you happy to continue troubleshooting with me so that I can narrow down the issue and issue a fix?
Hi @romanbupqode,
I also have the same problem and have already tried many solutions but without positive result.
The sending method has been changed to SMTP.
I now use a mailing list at our hoster with about 40 users, which makes sending faster.
But depending on the size of the mailing, it will still be sent twice.
Which alternative plugin are you currently using?
Hi @kuppj00,
If your server is sometimes sending two notifications depending on the site of the list of users the notification needs to be sent to, in my experience, this points to an issue with an under-powered hosting package.
My suggestion would be to ask your host to increase your PHP execution time or memory limit. Alternatively, you could upgrade your hosting plan, or move to another host.
You could also try using a single address in the Send To field (such as the one for the main site admin) and include everyone else in the BCC field instead.

Hi @voltronik I have a well equipped dedicated server and I nearly always get a double email on a simple “New Post Published” trigger. The only recipient is “Send to Author”. There is a “Revive Old Posts” plugin also setup, which auto shares to Twitter and Facebook, but otherwise not sure what else coule affect the behavior.
Thanks!
Hi @gamingage,
Please can you start a new thread for your issue and I’ll gladly help.
