    Hi @turnover2,

PayPal Payments doesn’t directly interact with the old PayPal Standard integration. Although both the PayPal Standard and the PayPal Payments plugin could be used simultaneously, it’s not typically recommended because it can confuse your customers with multiple PayPal options.

Both of these PayPal integrations also work differently.
The PayPal Standard integration redirects your buyers to the PayPal website where they perform the payment, before being returned back to your website.

With PayPal Payments, buyers never leave your store to pay via PayPal. Instead of redirecting buyers to PayPal, the plugin “implements PayPal directly on your site”.
This means the plugin is loading scripts from PayPal to render the PayPal smart buttons, which allow the payment to happen in the PayPal popup window.

It can sometimes take a short moment for PayPal to load the buttons on your site (especially on the initial page load with the buttons), but the buttons are loaded asynchronously, and this does not impact how long it takes for your website to render.
One thing you may want to do is checking that the Mini Cart button is disabled, as the buttons otherwise would be loaded on any page of your site: https://woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-paypal-payments/#faq-paypal-scripts-on-every-page

Also, if you’re using PayPal Standard for subscription payments because your account is not enabled for Reference Transactions, then please stay tuned for the next feature update, as it will allow you to sell “PayPal Subscriptions” via the PayPal Payments plugin.

    Kind regards,
    Niklas
